Being a working Mom, Saturday is my FAVORITE DAY!
Saturday is definitely the best day of the week in my book. I get to wake up naturally without the alarm clock screaming at me, though I still wake up by 5:30 am. Just knowing that I am not battling with the snooze button already puts me in such a good mood.
The weekends are especially special to me because as a working mom I am out of the house by 6:30am most days and I never have the ability to physically see my baby girl. Getting a glimpse of her on the monitor breaks my heart each morning.
But that was not the case today. Mommy for the win! As I walked in my little one’s room she was pretend playing with her horses and I could hear her attempting to count to five. Most times she is successful, then other times she says 1, 2, 5. I just love this age!
After I changed her diaper and had our morning WWE wrestling match brushing her teeth. I turned her loose. Normally she runs into our bedroom, thinking she is very sneaky, saying “shhhh” then screaming when she sees my husband in bed. But that wasn’t the plan today.
SHE Decided to do something completely different
Instead one of her pups jumped into the rocking chair while I was changing her. After placing her on the floor, aka launch pad. I went back into our bedroom to wash her tooth brush figuring she was not far behind. There was no “shhhhing” being said nor stomping of little feet on the wood floors. I thought it was odd. So I went back into her bedroom and this is what I saw.
She had crawled up onto the rocking chair to be next to our dog Oliver. She wanted to have her morning snuggles with him. As she sat next to Oliver she gave him kisses, hugs and several pat pats.
This is just one of many reasons why Saturdays are the best for me. What is your favorite day of the week and why?
